This picture was taken seven short years ago. It was one of my proudest moments. I had been ‘sculpting’ sand for about six years already. Sand castles back then were a hit and miss adventure. I didn’t have the right tools and how to go about building a sand castle was anybody’s guess! I had probably made 50 castles by this point and progress was imperceptable!

Here’s a photo of a 15 year old boy and his grandfather. They had never, ever, ever attempted to build a sand castle though they had been vacationing for a lifetime at the beach. Then they saw the “How To Build The Perfect Sand Castle” video at a friends house. They bought themselves a set of tools and thought they’d give it a try.
At left is an image of their first castle after their first attempt at a castle, but surely not the last time grandpa and grandson will spend an afternoon working together at the beach…and that is priceless!
I wonder how far they might go with seven years practice?
